On 14th Street subway station in NYC, a lady was looking to get some help with moving her cart full of trinkets (for selling) up over the stairs. Just ended up giving her a hand and realized this cart was her means to earning her living—proudly and likely, feeding her whole family.

I was driving down a neighborhood road when I saw an elderly woman trying to bring her large garbage cans in from the street. I pulled over and helped her bring them in from the street. I’m sure she appreciated it, but I also had my teenage daughter with me, and I wanted to show her that we are not too busy, or too cool, to give someone a helping hand.
